An ambitious contemporary production that brings one of the most powerful stories in European history vividly back to life.
The new production “Jeanne d’Arc” will set the stage ablaze from next autumn. One woman, one flame, a legend reborn in a World Premiere.
The iconic figure of French history, Jeanne d’Arc, inspires a powerful new contemporary choreographic creation. In this world premiere performed by the Glen Lambrecht Ballet, Jeanne’s story is reimagined through a striking work that blends memory, inner visions and historical tragedy.
The performance opens in Rouen in 1431. Jeanne awaits her fate, imprisoned in her cell. As time seems to stand still, fragments of her life begin to resurface: her childhood in Domrémy, shaped by war and violence; the mysterious appearance of the Voice that guides her path; and the birth of a conviction that will change the course of history.
Driven by extraordinary determination, Jeanne manages to meet the Dauphin Charles and persuade the court to entrust her with an army. Her presence disrupts the established order. From the court of Chinon to the decisive battles of Orléans, she leads the French troops toward hope and victory, ultimately bringing about the coronation of Charles VII in Reims.
But glory soon gives way to isolation. Captured in Compiègne and handed over to her enemies, Jeanne finds herself at the center of a relentless trial. Between interrogations, doubts and visions, her struggle becomes an inner one: to resist, to renounce, or to remain faithful to her mission.
Through intense choreography and an immersive staging, Jeanne d’Arc draws the audience into a dramatic fresco where battles, royal ceremonies and mystical visions unfold one after another. Dance becomes the language of an extraordinary destiny, shaped by faith, courage and sacrifice.

Capitole
After Belgian independence in 1830, the ‘Het Zuid’ district was built in Ghent around the first train station, later with the zoo and the park. The facade of the Capitole with its triangular pediment and neoclassical colonnade dates from 1850. With the rise of sound film, there was a need for a cinema that could handle these new techniques. In 1932, Geo Henderick built…
